MATH HOUSE
A house for a mathematician and family on a key Toronto ravine site celebrates the irrational but beautiful golden mean.
UNIQUE SITE
The math house for a family with a keen interest in math, and, in particular, the beauty of the golden mean. A unique South Rosedale ravine site at a curve in the road suggests a hinged plan that responds to the splayed geometry of the site.
GEOMETRY
Plan and elevation explore the beauty of geometry. From the street side, two large, frame-like forms come together at a central seam, which is the point of entry from the street, and leads to a reinterpretation of the center hall behind.
TWO WINGS
On the right is a living/dining/kitchen wing, with study and guest rooms above. To the left is a garage/studio/lower pool wing with family bedrooms above.
